Lhasa Panoramic 2 HDR

This panoramic was captured from the front of Potala Palace and is looking over Lhasa, Tibet. It is comprised of four RAW images processed in Photomatix, and then combined in Photoshop. For a view of Lhasa from the back of Potala Palace check out my previously posted panoramic.

Lhasa Tibet Panoramic

Last October I had the privilege of exploring Tibet with some classmates. I took this panoramic overlooking Lhasa from the back of Potala Palace. Please be patient when loading the image, it’s very large.

Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, Tibet

This is another panoramic from my trip to Tibet. Yamdrok Lake is located around 100km southeast of Lhasa, and is one of the holy lakes of Tibet. The lake is huge, with a length of about 81 miles. We visited it as a detour on our way to Everest Base Camp. The road leading up to it winds upward through mountains and contains many blind hairpin turns. Evidently accidents are common. We were told after we were safely off the road that two tour buses already this year had plunged off the cliffs, killing about 24 people each time. The panoramic combines 4 (handheld) horizontal shots using my 30D and Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM.
