Gear
While having the best gear doesn’t necessarily make a photographer better, having the right tools for the job can certainly enhance the final output. I believe that there is no “perfect” combination of lenses and camera bodies that works for every situation (ok. maybe this one…), and that part of being a photographer is being able to choose the correct setup for the job. Equipment should be transparent in operation, allowing the photographer to capture light without disrupting the creative process.
With that out of the way, here is my current setup. I shoot Canon because it’s what I choose when I started DSLR photography, and switching glass is expensive. If Nikon had a camera out for my price range in 2004 that beat the 10D (my first DSLR), then this setup would probably look very different.
